AUTODIA left an excellent impression with its presence at the 3rd Panhellenic Conference of Catering Associations "Restructuring & Sustainability" organized in Thessaloniki on 27 & 28/3 by EstiasiGreece and the Catering Initiative of Thessaloniki, under the auspices of the Region of Central Macedonia.

The Organization's team, led by the Commercial Director Ioannis Gkiokas, consisted of the Deputy Director of Northern Greece Vicky Kolaki, the Deputy Director of Southern Greece Konstantinos Chamezopoulos, the Attorney-at-Law Stavros Tsamis, as well as the representatives Nikos Kokkinos and Apostolos Papargyriou.

Mr. Gkiokas, during his speech at the Conference, referred to the rapid development of AUTODIA in recent years in all sectors. Regarding Public Performance, he highlighted the value and scope of the agreements that have been concluded with users/users’ unions, professional associations, and chambers, as well as leading collective bodies, such as the Union of Hellenic Chambers of Commerce, the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, the Panhellenic Association of Gyms and the Panhellenic Association of Cultural Event Organizers.

In addition, within the framework of the Conference, individual meetings were held with collective catering and leisure bodies in Thessaloniki, with which a common framework of understanding and cooperation on the issues of music royalties was discussed.

During his intervention at the Conference, the Minister of Tourism Mr. Vassilis Kikilias expressed his position that tourism and catering are interlinked together, pointing out that "what foreigners taste in their homelands, where Greek products are exported, here in Greece they have the opportunity to consume them at the source". Mr. Kikilias emphasized that in 2023 the revenue from tourism is expected to be even higher than in 2022, noting that this year Greece will receive tourists throughout the year, and stated that Pieria will "experience 2023 as an exceptional year in term of tourist inflows".

The Minister of Health, Mr. Athanasios Plevris, expressed his optimism for the future of the catering sector in terms of turnover, with the lifting of measures to avoid the spread of the coronavirus, in combination with the significant increase in the tourist inflows in our country.
