Autodia, the Greek non-profit Collecting Society of music authors and rights holders, participated in MIDEM 2017, Cannes, and was hosted in the Hellenic Pavilion of the Greek Ministry of Culture (P4.B16), represented by Mrs. Polyxeni Liva and Mrs. Evdoxia Spyridaki (Directorate of Cultural Policy Implementation).
Autodia’s delegate, Mrs Ilianna Antoniou -Communications & Public Relations- provided visitors with hard copy information on Society’s profile and activity, as well as full coverage on music industry and intellectual property issues in Greece, public performance & mechanical rights licencing, in the frame of scheduled and special meetings she had with delegates from collecting societies, music publishers, producers & managers, artists and students from many countries.
Autodia represents a large catalogue of Greek and international music works: Greek modern song, Rebetiko, Laiko, Traditional and Ethnic, Rock & Pop, Jazz & Fusion, New Age, Ambient, Cinema & Instrumental, Ancient Greek and Byzantine Music. It also represents important foreign publishers with large repertoires through Greek sub-publishers.
Autodia was licensed by the Greek Ministry of Culture on the 6th of March 2003 in accordance with Law 2121/1993 regarding Intellectual Property and Related Rights. It’s the only collecting joint organization of music rights in Greece, controlled by its members, composers, lyricists, publishers, sub-publishers, members also of EMSE, the Hellenic Union of Composers and Authors (1971).
Finally, since 8th June 2017 Autodia is a full member of CISAC, the International Confederation of Authors and Composers Societies (Performing Rights), and since 9th June 2017 Autodia is a member of BIEM, the International Organisation representing Mechanical Rights Societies.
