Autodia, the Greek non-profit Collecting Society of Intellectual Property Rights of music authors and rightsholders will showcase at MIDEM 2016 with a dynamic pavilion. This will host hard copy and audiovisual information on Society’s profile, services and repertory, while providing full coverage on music market regarding intellectual property issues in Greece, public performance, mechanical rights and music licencing.
The Society represents a large catalogue of Greek and international music works: Greek modern song, Rebetiko, Laiko, Traditional & Ethnic, Rock & Pop, Jazz & Fusion, New Age, Ambient, Cinema & Instrumental, Ancient Greek and Byzantine Music. It represents also important foreign publishers with large repertoires through Greek sub-publishers.
Autodia was licensed by the Greek Ministry of Culture on the 6th of March 2003 (Official Government Gazette 323 -18.3.2003) in accordance with Law 2121/1993 regarding Intellectual Property and Related Rights. The law gives creators the right to assign to Collective Management Organizations the authority to protect their intellectual property rights and all related entitlements.
It’s the only collecting joint organization in Greece, controlled by its members -composers, lyricists, publishers, sub-publishers-, members also of EMSE, the Hellenic Union of Composers and Authors which is the largest and most active union of Greek music creators since 1971. Furthermore, since 6th June 2014 autodia is a member of CISAC.
Autodia invites all interesting parties -composers, lyricists, music users, publishers, public authorities- to join a dialogue of vital importance on the dynamic relation between music authors and society in order to form a new framework of mutual trust and cooperation.

As part of the Midem 50th edition celebrations, music executives from around the world will be honoured at the inaugural International Midem Awards. This gala event will pay tribute to those who impact the music industry and will become a regular feature of future Midems.
The highly-acclaimed Midemlabs and Midem Artist Accelerator competitions will continue to provide unique showcases for startups operating in the music ecosystem and artists seeking to take national success to an international level. Winners of the two competitions will be honoured during the International Midem Awards.
Live music will be in abundance in 2016 with a wide range of talent performing at the traditional Opening Night and Closing Night networking events and the celebratory Midem 50th Birthday Party and will feature both hit groups and artists as well as new talent.
