AUTODIA’s Board of Directors, Management and Staff express their deep sorrow for the loss of the great composer, orchestrator, musician and producer Nikos Antypas who passed away on Monday, January 31th, 2022.
Nikos Antypas was an emblematic figure of contemporary Greek music creation, as a musician, as an orchestrator and composer of great hits, introducing innovative elements, in collaboration with leading artists of Greek discography (H. Alexiou, A. Protopsalti, L. Nikolakopoulou, Panos & Haris Katsimihas, E. Arvanitaki, Y. Spathas, Th. Mikroutsikos, G. Dalaras, L. Papadopoulos, Marinella, E. Vitali, Glykeria, D. Basis etc.), as a drummer of the legendary group “Socrates Drank the Conium”, as well as a music producer of young talented artists.
At the same time, Nikos Antypas has been the BoD Chairman of the Collective Management Organization AUTODIA since April 2019, giving a daily fight to tackle the problems in the field of Greek music authors’ rights and constantly supporting the unification of the Greek repertoire under one roof.
Always calm and friendly, he kept in regular contact with the Organization’s employees, closely watched with interest our daily work flow and regularly arranged meetings with his fellow creators who were informed about the developments in the field and our Organization’s progress.
We will miss Nikos Antypas, his kindness and gentleness, his talent and history as an artist, his personality that left an indelible mark on collective management of music rights, in a time of great ordeal for all us.
We express our deepest condolences to his daughter and his family.
Goodbye maestro, goodbye Chairman, you will always be in our hearts.
