AUTODIA distributes €4.234.582 to music authors and sister societies

AUTODIA, the Greek Collective Management Organization of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers, acting with efficiency, transparency and credibility, regarding the crucial role it plays in the collective management sector, proceeds with Distribution of July 2022 amounting to more than 4,200,000 euros (gross amount), with an administration cost of 25% (average rate of all uses) to its members, as well as to sister societies.

AUTODIA, the Greek Collective Management Organization of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers, acting with efficiency, transparency and credibility, regarding the crucial role it plays in the collective management sector, proceeds with the Distribution 2022S1 amounting to  €4.234.582 (gross amount), with an administration cost of 25% (average rate of all uses) to its members, as well as to sister societies.

The Distribution 2022S1 concerns collected royalties of the 2nd Semester 2021, as well as of past years and periods, and includes royalties from the following revenue sources:

Public Performance (background), Concerts, TV, Radio, Online, Cinemas, International Revenue, Mechanical Rights (independent productions and record labels’ sales) and Mechanical Rights of Audiovisual Works (Synchro).

It is the first time that AUTODIA will distribute royalties referring to the motion picture exhibition right to its members, following the agreements it signed with the largest cinema groups in the country, Village Cinema and Odeon.

Greek composers and authors will receive royalties for the uses of their works on more than 50 music streaming platforms from 200 territories - including Greece - such as YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Facebook, Instagram, Oculus, Beatport, Soundcloud, etc.

The Ordinary General Assembly of the Organization's members, which was successfully held on Thursday 7/7/2022, approved, among other things, the administrative and financial report, the Transparency Report, the financial statements and the distributions to the rightsholders for the year 2021. In addition, regarding the elections that took place during the General Assembly, the composer Thanasis Nikopoulos was elected as a member of the Board of Directors to fill a vacant position.

It is clear that the rapid operational and financial progress, the international recognition and the trust enjoyed by the Greek music users have highlighted the Organization as the dominant player in the collective management, with more than 80% market share, over 26 million represented works, representation agreements with 80 sister societies and 2,000,000 Greek and foreign creators in total to be represented in Greece.

Despite the effects of the pandemic on our sector, in 2021 AUTODIA's total revenues amounted to €9,767,194, increased by 47.05%, compared to 2020. Distributed royalties also show an increase of 69% (2021/2020). The administration cost moves inversely, as in the 2021 it was reduced by 12 percentage points, to 24.12%, versus 36.31% in 2020 (-33.57%).

AUTODIA’s distributions take place in accordance with all international standards and best practices, while the Organization provides also its members with access to all data related to their distributions, through the awarded Distribution Portal for Members.

In the following days, the rightsholders will be informed with a new announcement about the exact payment dates, followed by distribution reports, including the revenue sources in detail, the periods of use and the total amount corresponding to each rightsholder.
