AUTODIA’s expertise team participated in the MTC/MRD (Media Technical Committee / Mechanical Right Day), jointly held by CISAC and BIEM on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, November 14, 15 & 16 2022, in Berlin.

The Conference was attended by executives from many CMOs and cooperating bodies from Europe and all over the world, who exchanged experiences and know-how at national level, regarding the management and protection of music rights, in the era of new technologies and innovative digital applications’ advance.

Representing AUTODIA, Manolis Dimitriadis, Chief Technology Officer, Stathis Pantzis, Head of New Media, Christina Mergoupi, Head of Mechanical Rights, Synchro & Private Copy, and Jenny Gabriil, Attorney at Law, attended the Conference, which also hosted a special session on Mechanical Right Day, during its first and second day.

The latest tech trends and developments and their impact on music industry, on the management of represented repertoire, as well as on the licensing best practices, were the main theme of the conference sessions.

The speakers delivered interesting presentations on several current issues such as Artificial Intelligence, NFTs, metaverse, streaming subscription platforms VoD, podcasts, gaming subscription platforms, the profitable music streaming services, and the inadequate remuneration of music authors, and many others.  

Finally, the legal dimension of the effects of the constantly evolving new technologies was presented thoroughly, based on both the latest and expected EU Directives, as well as the new national frameworks implemented in various territories, affecting in the market and the licensing practices followed by Sister Societies around the world.
