AUTODIA, making good on its commitment to distribute even higher amount of royalties to its members, is pleased to announce its Distribution 2023S2.
Royalties of approximately 10,000,000 euros gross will be received with the Distribution 2023S2 by AUTODIA’s members -composers, lyricists, and music publishers- as well as by sister societies.
From Wednesday, December 20th, creators and other rightsholders will begin to receive their individual distribution reports regarding the uses of their works in Greece and abroad, regarding the Distribution 2023S2 which concerns net royalties of 8,000,000 euros approx.
Over 27 million euros distributed in two years 2022-2023
2023 was another successful year for the leading Greek music CMO on a financial, operational, and technical level.
This is reflected on an annual basis in the distributed royalties in recent years (2018-2023) as follows:
- In 2023, the total amount of royalties received by members and sister companies showed an increase of +56% compared to last year, reaching €16,845,698 compared to €10,810,253 in 2022 (gross).
- Considering the constant annual reduction of the deduction fee, thanks to its effective and efficient management, then it follows that the net distributed royalties record an even greater +65% increase in 2023 amounting to 13,579,540 euros, compared to 8,216,523 euros in 2022.
- It is estimated that only in the last two years 2022-2023, a total of 27,662,832 euros gross and correspondingly 21,792,770 euros net royalties were distributed.
Distribution 2023S2: Significant increase in revenue sources
AUTODIA's Distribution 2023S2 includes all revenue sources: Public Performance, Concerts, TV, Radio, Cinemas, Online (Netflix, Mint Digital Services, THE MLC and local web radios), Mechanical Reproduction, Private Copy, Synch and Royalties from Abroad. AUTODIA collects and distributes royalties from sister societies in Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and Asia, having signed over 80 representation contracts with CMOs around the world.
- An impressive +163.2% increase this year in royalties from online, compared to 2022 - thanks to AUTODIA's collaboration with Mint Digital Services, with which Greek creators receive revenue for the uses of their works on 50+ top DSPs (YouTube, Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Deezer, TikTok etc.) from Greece and from 250 countries of the world -, but also with The MLC which administers the online mechanical rights of the Greek music repertoire in the USA.
- After including royalties from Netflix, the distributed royalties for the period 2022-2023, in total for online uses, amount to 3,535,741 euros.
- Other sources of revenues in net royalties also showed a significant increase this year, such as Synch (+752.2%), Concerts (+72%), Private Copy (+36.9%), Public Performance (28.6%), Television (+21%) and Radio (+18.5%).
At the cutting edge of developments for the protection of Greek creators’ interests
Once again, the trust of Greek users, the large, steady enrollment of Greek creators and the efficient and reliable management of important international repertoires and music catalogs of CMOs and publishers, led to this particularly positive result for AUTODIA this year.
Being at the cutting edge of developments, in terms of infrastructure and know-how, the Organisation constantly adapte to the rapid progress of new technology. It has made significant investments to upgrade its Documentation and Distribution systems, collaborating with specialized partners, inside and outside Greece, while it will soon launch the innovative ‘my.autodia.gr’ platform for the electronic issuance of public performance licenses throughout Greece.
In addition, throughout this time, AUTODIA has been following with undiminished interest the negotiations for the finalization of the new EU AI Act, as well as the fair claims of creators’ organizations and collective bodies, regarding the creators' rights and remuneration from music streaming platforms and the buy-out contracts on audiovisual streaming productions in Europe.
